ICAS To Be Inducted into Air & Space Hall of Fame | October 18th, 2024 |
The San Diego Air & Space Museum recently announced that the International Council of Air Shows will be inducted into the International Air & Space Hall of Fame. ICAS is being recognized for its 50+ year position as the global authority on air show safety, standards and industry advocacy, as well as the role it plays as the organizational rallying point for the worldwide air show community.
Other 2024 inductees include the Northrop Grumman B-21 Raider long-range strike bomber; Bell Flight, the leader in vertical flight in the aviation industry; Katherine Johnson, the pioneering NASA mathematician portrayed in the feature film Hidden Figures; Stephen Altemus, co-founder and CEO of Intuitive Machines, a cutting-edge space company dedicated to advancing both robotic and human space exploration; Blake Scholl, founder of Boom Supersonic, an aerospace company focused on restoring super-sonic airline service; and Tory Bruno, CEO of United Launch Alliance, an American launch service provider formed in December 2006 as a joint venture between Lockheed and Boeing.
Past inductees into the International Air & Space Hall of Fame include Bob Hoover, Paul Poberezny, Bud Anderson, Sean Tucker, Patty Wagstaff, the Commemorative Air Force, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, EAA, Jimmy Doolittle, Amelia Earhart, AOPA, the Wright Brothers, and Charles Lindbergh.
The induction ceremony will take place at the San Diego Air & Space Museum on the evening of Saturday, November 9.
