ICAS Joins Aviation Stakeholders In Next-Generation Fuel Initiative | March 14th, 2022 |
The recently announced Eliminate Aviation Gasoline Lead Emissions (EAGLE) initiative is a comprehensive public-private partnership consisting of aviation organizations, the petroleum industry, and U.S. government stakeholders. ICAS has joined a group of aviation organizations in a collaborative partnership that includes GAMA, AOPA, EAA, NBAA, and others. Working toward the goal of transitioning to lead-free aviation fuels for piston-engine aircraft by the end of 2030, the initiative is seen as an aggressive and necessary step toward the future of aviation fuels. The intent is to lead a transition to high-octane fuel options for piston-powered aircraft without compromising safety or economic health of the general aviation industry, including air shows. Work on EAGLE will begin next month and is expected to include multiple additional organizations as the project progresses and develops.
