 Kevin Walsh, from the Thunder Over Michigan Air Show and Yankee Air Museum, was named the 2021 recipient of the ICAS Sword of Excellence during last week’s ICAS Convention in Las Vegas. The award is presented each year to recognize the highest levels of achievement in the air show business and is focused particularly on highlighting selfless commitment to improving the air show industry. Walsh was recognized for his success and innovation with the Thunder over Michigan show and his contributions to professionalism, sustainability, and improved entertainment in the larger North American air show community. A former ICAS Board Chairman and frequent speaker at the ICAS Convention, Walsh was cited for his commitment to safeguarding, promoting, and improving the entire air show business as a leader, mentor, and occasional constructive critic. The 47th recipient of the Sword of Excellence, Walsh joins a list of past recipients that includes Paul Poberezny, Bob Hoover, Charlie Hillard, Art Scholl, Duane Cole, and Leo Loudenslager. | |
