ICAS Launches Social Media Advocacy Effort | March 29th, 2021 |
As part of a larger advocacy effort related to the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) program soon to be launched by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), ICAS is today launching an aggressive and ambitious social media campaign intended to encourage the SBA to recognize air shows as entities eligible to apply for and receive grants offered as part of the SVOG program. And we need your help. The social media effort is built around this single, one-minute video developed by ICAS during the last few days. Although the video itself focuses on establishing the U.S. air show industry as American small business, the intent of the social media campaign is to demonstrate to the SBA that there is widespread support for helping the American air show industry. “Social media advocacy works best when it works organically,” says Adam Glowaski, ICAS Director of Marketing and Communications. “So, it’s vitally important to our strategy and to the outcome of this advocacy effort that ICAS members and air show enthusiasts use their own social media platforms to share our message as soon as possible and not later than 7:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, March 31.” ICAS would like all of its members to share this social media message on their business and personal Facebook pages, Instagram accounts and Twitter feeds. And we would also like you to ask your staff, Board members, volunteers and fans to also share the messages, as well. “This is our opportunity to do something pro-active,” said ICAS President John Cudahy. “We hope to build a grassroots groundswell that gets the attention of the SBA on this critical issue. But we need your help, and we need it right now.” To view and re-post the ICAS Facebook post, click here. To view and re-post the ICAS Instagram post, click here.
