SUN ‘n FUN HOSTS ONLINE AIRSHOW LIVE BENEFIT | May 29th, 2020 |
Lakeland, Florida: This Saturday, May 30th at 1PM EDT, the SUN 'n FUN Aerospace Expo will host the SUN ‘n FUN Home Edition ONLINE AIRSHOW LIVE BENEFIT, a fantastic afternoon of virtual airshow fun! The 2020 SUN 'n FUN Aerospace Expo has been proclaimed "The Greatest Airshow that Never Happened" as it was cancelled two weeks before its opening date due to COVID-19 closures. Without the annual SUN 'n FUN Fly-In event, this non-profit 501c3 organization has lost over 80% of its annual funding, placing many of its scholarships, award-winning STEM education programs, and planned expansion projects for the Aerospace Center for Excellence on hold. The SUN ‘n FUN Home Edition ONLINE AIRSHOW LIVE BENEFIT will be a fun-filled afternoon with exciting airshow entertainment. There will be live interviews with aviation industry icons, behind the scenes special features, and live commentary on spectacular encore airshow performances by the USAF Thunderbirds, US Navy Blue Angels, F35 Demo team, and many civilian performers including Patty Wagstaff and Michael Goulian. Shuttle Astronaut Nicole Stott will be online to answer questions and provide commentary during the presentation of the live SpaceX Crew Dragon launch. During the event, viewers can win PRIZES simply by registering for the Silent Auction taking place during the show. Those that register are eligible to win #SNF21 trips & tickets, Bose gear, and other great items during the show. Registration is FREE and participants DO NOT have to bid to be eligible to win. Register at flysnf.org. Donations of $50 or more will receive a thank you gift that can lead to additional rewards during the 2021 SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo scheduled for April 13-18, 2021 which will feature the 75th Anniversary of the US Navy Blue Angels. There is even 2020 collectible SUN ‘n FUN merchandise available for sale with the addition of a sleeve graphic of “The Greatest Airshow That Never Happened”. Be sure to wear one of these special shirts at SUN 'n FUN 2021 as the Prize Patrol will be awarding amazing prizes and event upgrades. The SUN 'n FUN team created the SNF Home Edition to deliver online content such as dynamic series of live interviews with airshow performers and virtual airshow attractions via a new web portal and social media. Content will continue to be developed throughout coming months as the fundraising objective is significant. "The SUN ‘n FUN Home Edition is all the parts of the annual Aerospace Expo that attendees have come to know and love and a whole lot more”, says Greg Gibson, Chief Marketing Officer and Airshow Director. "The ONLINE AIRSHOW LIVE BENEFIT is a collaborative effort of partners that believe in our mission of raising monies in order for the Aerospace Center for Excellence to Engage, Educate and Accelerate the next generation of aerospace professionals".
