Air Force Extends Public Event Support Suspension Through June 30th | April 20th, 2020 |
As a result of an Air Force directive over the weekend to continue a suspension of all unnecessary travel and activities, the Department of the Air Force announced the suspension of all large event outreach activities and community event support through June 30th. This suspension includes military and civilian air show support for both the ACC single-ship demonstration teams and the USAF Thunderbirds. The single-ship teams and the Thunderbirds will continue training to maintain air show readiness throughout the pause as they have been doing since the original suspension began in mid-March in anticipation for the re-start of the air show season this Summer. The Thunderbirds have remained active with outreach flyovers of Las Vegas and Colorado, supporting the efforts of the first responders and hospital workers during the COVID-19 crisis. Concurrently, the F-35A demo team has been actively training at Hill AFB in Utah, with scheduled practice times published for the local community.
