ICAS recently opened registration for the 2013 ICAS Convention. (Members can learn more about the convention by clicking here or register by clicking here.) This year’s event will include across-the-board registration fee reductions of not-less-than $15. The very best registration rates are being offered between now and July 31. ICAS is also offering members the opportunity to pay half of their registration fee early (to qualify for the lowest rates) and finish paying later in the year.
“It’s hard to say what the next few months have in store for the air show business, but we think it’s especially important to make the convention as productive, accessible and informative as possible this year to help our members overcome the impact that sequestration has had on virtually every segment of our industry,” said ICAS President John Cudahy.
Initial planning has focused on providing all of the benefits and functionality of past conventions with a special emphasis on the challenges posed in 2013 and the possible additional challenges that ICAS members will face in 2014.
“We are effectively scheduling two different conventions,” says Cudahy. “In the event that the sequestration-related cuts in military air show participation are not reversed, we will have a convention that focuses very specifically on conducting air show business with a ‘new normal.’ But, if as we hope and expect, we return to something like the status quo ante, the convention will focus on recovering from 2013 and re-focusing on a more promising 2014.”
