The Canadian air force will once again be officially known as the “Royal Canadian Air Force,” according to correspondence distributed late this summer. The Royal Canadian Air Force was originally established in 1924. Since 1975, the Canadian air force has been referred to as Air Command. The re-establishment of the RCAF’s original name is intended as a tribute to the long and proud history of the organization. The name change will have no effect on the RCAF’s capabilities, mission, rank structure, organization or operations. |
