R.A. “Bob” Hoover will deliver the opening keynote address to help kick off the 2011 ICAS Convention, December 4-7 at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. One of aviation’s bona fide living legends, Hoover will be joined on stage by David Hartman, former host of ABC’s Good Morning America television show. An Emmy award-winning broadcast journalist and aviation enthusiast in his own right, Hartman will moderate a discussion with Hoover on the morning of Monday, December 5.
“Bob Hoover is a war hero, aviation celebrity and air show pioneer,” said ICAS President John Cudahy. “We can’t wait to welcome him back to the ICAS Convention in his well-earned role as air show elder statesman.”
Hoover’s aviation career is unprecedented and historic. He was a fighter pilot in World War II, an Air Force test pilot in aviation’s heady “Right Stuff” era, and our industry’s most famous and talented performer for more than 40 years. He has personally met such great aviators as Orville Wright, Eddie Rickenbacker, Charles Lindbergh, Neil Armstrong, and Yuri Gagarin. And, more important than all of that, he is a world-class story teller who will keep ICAS Convention delegates on the edge of their seats during his one-hour presentation.
