Scholl Nominations Accepted Through End of August | July 29th, 2024 |
Each year, ICAS presents the Art Scholl Memorial Showmanship Award to the air show act or performer which best exemplifies the qualities of showmanship demonstrated by Art Scholl, a longtime ICAS member, renowned aerobatic pilot, and consummate air show performer. The selection of each year’s award recipient is made by a committee comprised of a representative from the ICAS Board of Directors, two past recipients of the award, and two at-large members, each of who has at least ten years of experience in the air show business. Recipients are selected based on a single criterion: air show showmanship. The list of past recipients reads like a Who’s Who of legendary air show performers over the last 35+ years, including Bob Hoover, the Red Baron Pizza Squadron, Jimmy Franklin, Leo Loudenslager, Rich’s Incredible Pyro, Sean Tucker, Tora Tora Tora, John Mohr, Gene Soucy, Danny Clisham, Michael Goulian and Rob Holland, to name just a few of the 36 past recipients since the first award was presented in 1986.
