Wingman Award Goes To Lorenz | December 28th, 2023 |
 Each year, the Bob Hoover Wingman Award is presented to an individual or organization that has provided support or assistance to the air show community like that a combat pilot might expect from his wingman. This year, the Wingman Award was presented to Brian Lorenz.
Better known as “Zippy” to the air show community, Lorenz has been present across a multitude of air shows, including both EAA AirVenture and the SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo. He has diligently kept watch over the safe ground handling of air show traffic, and is willing to jump headfirst into any issue that arises. Lorenz is often the first to arrive and the last to leave a show site, putting the greater good above his own. No matter where you may find him, Lorenz always has the back of the air show industry.
