More than 1,000 air show professionals gathered at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas for the 2013 ICAS Convention, December 2-5.
The 47th annual ICAS Convention featured the traditional opening reception on Monday, a keynote address by leadership consultant Jeff McCausland on Tuesday, a stirring panel discussion with three World War II aviation combat veterans on Wednesday, and the traditional Chairman’s Banquet at the conclusion of the four-day event on Thursday evening.
During the convention, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and Royal Canadian Air Force Snowbirds announced their 2014 performance schedules. The preliminary schedule for the 2014 North American air show season can be found here (by date) and here (by map).
“We knew going in that sequestration would negatively impact attendance this year,” said ICAS President John Cudahy. “But the level of enthusiasm and optimism about the 2014 air show season was encouraging. After a difficult season in 2013, the air show community is already preparing to come back strong in 2014.”
