Our annual opening night welcome reception gives ICAS members an opportunity to celebrate. And this year, in honor of both the centennial of naval aviation and next year’s bicentennial of the War of 1812, we’re hoping to encourage a celebratory atmosphere with a nautically-themed welcome reception on the evening of Sunday, December 4. Members are encouraged to attend the reception in nautically-themed attire, with a number of prizes going to the best individual and group costumes.
The grand prize will be a trip for two to a seaside air show in 2012. Need some ideas? Consider scuba attire, Sponge Bob Square Pants outfits, lifeguard gear, Gilligan’s Island, Navy uniforms, or water polo or synchronized swim team outfits. Remember, though, your air show colleagues are a creative and fun-loving group. To be in contention for best costume honors, you’ll need to bring your “A” game.
