Commander Robert “Gus” Kaminksi, officer in charge of the U.S. Navy Leap Frogs, passed away earlier this month.
A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Kaminski became a SEAL in in August of 1995. He was deployed multiple times to the Persian Gulf. He was also involved with SEAL training and recruiting during his career with the Navy. He completed a joint tour at Special Operations Command South in Homestead, Florida. Gus was a member of the Leap Frogs on two different occasions, the first from 2002 to 2004 and the second beginning in 2007.
